Creating the Dance
It is the Holy Spirit who inspires your creativity to create dances. If you love to praise the lord in dance your movements will be inspired by him through your praise and he will give you the dance moves.
Awesome choreography does not begin with professional dance moves. Build the dance first in pieces and then polish it later after it is created.
To create the dance begin by praying, and find a sciripture.
Choose a song and listen to the song over and over. Know the entire song then afterwards feel the music and dance along to the words in praise. Invite the Holy Spirit to dance with you. Come empty
to the lord to receive unlimited creativity and inspiration for dance movements.
Since a dancer is not speaking or singing, it is important to make sure your steps and movements are clear enough to tell a message or story which can be interpreted by others through your
expressions.
Use facial expressions to add life to the dance and to express what you are feeling in the dance. If the song is expressing joy, then dance joyfully; if it is expressing pain then dance the story of
the struggle.
Mastered choreography is not an easy task, however with prayer and practice you can learn to skillfullly speak life to others through your dance movements, as God pours his grace upon you.
If you get stuck, don't give up keep trying. If this helps send me your thoughts on what you are struggling with. The task is not as hard as it seems. Dance is hard work and the prepration pays off in the end. Hang in there and remember God is delighted to dance with you!
